How to remove mold from plastic dishes?
Mix a bleach solution with ½ cup of bleach and 1 gallon of water. For mold that cannot be cleaned off, use a stronger strength solution of 1 cup bleach and 1 gallon of water. Place the plastic container in the solution so that all of the moldy areas are completely submerged.
White vinegar is a mildly acidic product that cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects. It can also kill 82% of mold species, including black mold, on porous and non-porous surfaces. You can use it safely on most surfaces, and its offensive odor goes away quickly.
Dish soap doesn't exactly kill mold, but it can be used to remove visible mold. When added to water, dish soap acts as a surfactant that helps detach mold and mold spores from surfaces, making them easier to scrub off.

Pour enough undiluted white vinegar into the empty spray bottle to cover the area of mold growth. Spray the mold directly, fully saturating it with the vinegar, and allow the vinegar to sit for at least an hour. Don't be tempted to scrub or rinse; the mold needs time to completely absorb the vinegar.
How Long Does It Take for Vinegar to Kill Mold? Depending on the amount of mold, let the vinegar sit on the mold at least 60 minutes before wiping or scrubbing.
Thoroughly wash metal pans, ceramic dishes and utensils (including can openers) with hot soap and water. Rinse and then sanitize them by boiling in clean water or immersing them for 15 minutes in a diluted bleach solution (1 tablespoon of unscented, liquid chlorine bleach per 1 gallon of drinking water).
Mold generally can't break down plastic easily. However, plastic contains many additives, such as plasticizers, cellulose, lubricants, stabilizers, and colorants to help provide desired features, and these additives ARE very easy for mold to break down.
Is bleach or vinegar better for mold?
While it is possible to use bleach to kill mold as well, experts agree that vinegar is a much better option. Unlike bleach, vinegar can effectively kill the mold at the root, which means it's less likely to return. Vinegar is also less toxic than bleach, making it a better choice for household use.
Rotting food is a huge source of mold in the dishwasher, especially if it gets circulated around the wash tub during cycles. If you want to keep mold from taking hold, clean out the filter about once a week, and give the filter fixture a good scrub in soapy water at least once a month.
Although extremely high temperatures may successfully kill some types of mold spores, dishwashers are incapable of this task. This is because they cannot handle these increased temperatures for the necessary length of time to kill mold.
Bleach kills virtually every species of indoor mold that it comes into contact with including mold spores which leaves a sanitized surface making it resistant to future mold growth.
Mold spores thrive in environments that are moist and warm, so when they land on a damp spot, they begin to grow. Molds can grow on a variety of different surfaces, including fabric, paper, wood, glass, and plastic.
Using bleach and baking soda
Add a teaspoonful of baking soda and a teaspoonful of bleach to your water bottle. Fill it with warm water, replace the lid and shake well. Using a bottle scrubbing brush, scrub the bottle's walls and bottom. Thoroughly scrub the sides also then let the bottle settle overnight.
Mix one teaspoon of baking soda along with two cups of water and shake in a spray bottle. When thoroughly dissolved spray the solution onto the mold and scrub with a brush.
